Gambia passport Somalia

Do Gambians need a visa for Somalia?

You need an eVisa.

eVisa

eVisa (electronic visa). A real visa application, made online instead of at an embassy. It is assessed, it takes days rather than minutes, and it can be refused.

You apply online before you travel and are approved before you fly. There is no embassy appointment and no interview — you fill in a form on the government's own site, pay the government's fee, and carry the approval with you.

Apply on the official Somalia government site

This is the government's own portal. We are not paid to send you there, and there is no service in between.

Before you fly

  • Changing planes: a passport from Gambia needs a visa even to stay airside in United Kingdom, unless you hold an exempting document. Transit rules legislation.gov.uk · read

Worth knowing

  • Apply only at etas.gov.so. Somalia's Immigration and Citizenship Agency warns against unofficial websites and agents.

How long it takes

Since 1 September 2025 every foreign national must apply online for an entry authorisation before travelling. Keep a copy of the approval to show on arrival.
