eVisa (electronic visa). A real visa application, made online instead of at an embassy. It is assessed, it takes days rather than minutes, and it can be refused.
You apply online before you travel and are approved before you fly. There is no embassy appointment and no interview — you fill in a form on the government's own site, pay the government's fee, and carry the approval with you.

Before you fly

What Moldova asks for
- Application form
- Passport issued in the last 10 years, valid for at least 3 months after you leave Moldova
- Recent matt colour photo, 35mm x 45mm
- The invitation from the General Inspectorate for Migration, if your nationality needs one
- Accommodation booking, or a maintenance and accommodation commitment signed by a person in Moldova
- Return ticket reservation
- Bank statement no older than 10 days, covering at least 30 euro a day and not less than 300 euro
- Travel medical insurance for the whole stay, cover of at least 30,000 euro
