You can get the visa at the border rather than beforehand. Bring the fee in cash in the currency the border post accepts, plus a return ticket and your accommodation details. A visa on arrival is a permission, not a guarantee.

What Solomon Islands asks for

- Cover letter giving the purpose of your visit, addressed to the Director of Immigration
- Copy of your return or onward air ticket
- Hotel booking confirmation, if staying at a hotel
- Evidence of enough money to support yourself

Worth knowing
- Short-term visas, including tourist and business visas, must be applied for through the e-visa portal.
- You may be refused entry if your passport has less than 6 months' validity.
How long it takes
Processing time varies by visa category. You are notified by email, and an approved visa is sent as a grant letter to your email.
