Maldives passport India
You can board a flight to India on a passport from Maldives with no visa. You may stay up to 90 days per visit. Immigration will still want to see a return ticket, somewhere to stay, and enough money for the trip.
- Status
- Visa free
- Stay permitted
- 90 days
- Government fee
- Nothing to pay
- Typical decision
- No application
There is nothing to apply for and nothing to pay.
Book your flight. Any site offering to sell you a India visa, permit or "travel authorisation" for this trip is selling you something you do not need.
If you are travelling on a different passport, India's official entry rules are at indianvisaonline.gov.in.
What India asks for
- Passport valid for at least six months from arrival, with two blank pages
- A recent photograph with a plain light background
- Scan of the passport biographical page
- Return or onward ticket
- The address where you will stay in India
Worth knowing
- The Indian e-Visa fee depends on your nationality. A site quoting one flat price for everyone is not reading the official schedule.
- The Government of India charges nothing extra for an urgent or express e-Visa. Its own site states that no provision exists for emergency fees.
- Bank charges of 3% are added to the official e-Visa fee at payment.
- You check an e-Visa application from the portal you applied on, at indianvisaonline.gov.in. There is no separate tracking site.
How long it takes
Apply at least 4 days before you arrive. The e-Visa is granted as an electronic travel authorisation, which you carry as a printout.
