Do Namibians need a visa for Peru?

You need a visa.

You must apply and be approved before you travel. The government charges $30. Airlines will refuse to board you without it, and applying takes time — start well before you book anything you cannot change.

What Peru asks for

  • A valid passport
  • Return ticket to Peru, e-ticket or reservation
  • Hotel booking, tour package, or an invitation letter legalised by Peru's Ministry of Foreign Affairs
  • Two colour passport-size photographs
  • A recent bank statement showing you can support yourself
  • Proof of payment of the consular fee, uploaded with the application

Worth knowing

  • Apply online through Peru's e-SAMI system; the application is then sent to the consular office you chose.
  • Payment only lets you submit an application. It does not guarantee a visa and is not refunded if you are refused.

How long it takes

Each application is assessed individually by the Peruvian consul, who may ask for an interview or more documents. The decision is sent to the email address you registered.
