Japan does not currently admit travellers holding a North Korea passport. This is a government policy, not a paperwork problem, and no agent or service can work around it.
- Status
- No admission
- Stay permitted
- Set by the officer on entry
- Government fee
- Nothing to pay
- Typical decision
- No application
Worth knowing
- Japan charges the visa fee only if the visa is issued. An approved agency adds its own handling fee.
- Visa fees rose on 1 July 2026. Older figures you see online are out of date.
- Depending on your nationality and purpose, the fee may be waived or differ from the standard amount.
