Who has one

You get one when you are granted a visa or other permission to be in the UK. eVisas have replaced physical immigration documents. gov.uk · read

Dependants, including children, need their own UKVI accounts. A parent can manage a child's account. gov.uk · read

If your settlement is shown on an old physical document, you can get an eVisa through a free "no time limit" application, which can take up to 6 months. gov.uk · read

BRPs and travel

Biometric residence permits (BRPs) have expired and been replaced by eVisas. An expired BRP may still be usable for limited purposes for a time. gov.uk · read
