Do Qataris need a visa for Japan?

You need an eTA.

eTA 30d

eTA (electronic travel authorisation). Not a visa. A short online form for travellers who are already visa-exempt, usually approved automatically in minutes to hours. No appointment, no interview, no documents.

Japan does not require a full visa, but you must get an electronic travel authorisation approved before you travel. It is applied for online, usually granted quickly, and checked at the airport before you board.

Worth knowing

  • Japan charges the visa fee only if the visa is issued. An approved agency adds its own handling fee.
  • Visa fees rose on 1 July 2026. Older figures you see online are out of date.
  • Depending on your nationality and purpose, the fee may be waived or differ from the standard amount.
